So I bought this dress to wear to work. It looks nice on me when I wore it in the dressing room and checked out myself. But now, when I tried at home and look at it at a different angle, the dress looks different.
So what do you see in this dress? Suitable for work? I think it is but I have not seen anyone at work wearing a dress like this. I forgot the brand and the shop’s name but I know I bought it at dressmart. By the way, it was on sale so the price is $39. Before, it was $79. Not sure of the original original price.

During the recent KL trip, I wanted to look for another dinner dress. I did try on these two…
The plain black one piece has the Greek influence. The drapes hides the body fats and at the same time creates a favorable body shape. Unfortunately, the inner layer is skin tight and I look quite ugly from the side view. If the inner layer is a loose fit also, I think it will be perfect.
The second dress is recommended by Lingdi. It is the fashion in Perth that I have been spotting young skinny people wearing. I am not skinny or tall enough to make this dress looks great. Also, not young enough to wear it. Haha…
Plain black dress is from Nichii and costs RM 79.90 while the second dress is from Forever 21 and I forgot how much does it cost.

I got asked to become someone’s bridemaid once again. Wait… actually, I got another invitation last night. That means I will be bridemaid for three weddings in the time period of less than one month. I think there is a saying about if become bridemaid for more than 3 times, one will never get married? But I am not the maid of honour so should be alright, right? Haha…
Anyways, for Klaus & Elaine’s wedding, Elaine has asked the bridemaids to wear all white. I have a very limited choice of dresses in my wardrobe. To be honest, I rarely buy dresses and my most recent purchase is earlier this year during my KL shopping trip. Then, I got a really nice dress from Irene’s wedding – sponsored by Irene. So, basically means that I am not a dress person. A white dress is a challenge to me.
I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to find any white dress. Worst case scenario is that I will just wear something white from my wardrobe but wait! I dont think I have anything white in my wardrobe
Thankfully, during the cousins’ outing, we managed to find me a white dress. I initially thought that it is a bit too sweet and informal… ’cause of the way the straps are tied on the shoulder (refer middle pic). But it turns out pretty alright if the strap is tied to the back of the neck.

I always seem to have difficulty in choosing a good title for my posts. Anyway, this dress was on sale in Jay Jays for $10 so I decided to go for it. I sort of have a goal for myself that I would wear dress or skirt more often, this meant that I need to wear tights more often too.
During the summer, I would just wear the dress without the long sleeve. But since it’s the winter, yea.. wear the long sleeve with it.
As I mentioned, the price is $10 in Jay Jays, New Zealand.

Do you remember those Thai stalls set up in concourses of shopping malls selling all sorts of apparels? They always have got those long skirts with all sorts of prints. My mum got one the previous trip she went to Shah Alam. Having in mind that we are all shorties in the family, I thought of an idea to turn it into a dress instead.

Coupled with a belt and a cropped jacket to create the ’sleeves’ illusion, I think it looks like a dress, after all. It would have been better if the belt is replaced with a elastic clincher for better grasp. You can create an empire waistline or the usual waistline definition. It is really up to your own creativity.
As for the footwear, I opted a vintage-looking peep-toe. It really is antic. According to my mum, the shoes are nearly 20 years old! My grandmother bought it and look how lasting it is.

Fashion Practicalities
One would not wear a dress made of newspaper out to town, would you?
But what if it has become the top trend fashion of the year, I’m pretty sure there will be no hesitations. This particular Little Newspaper Dress: Paper Kimono, has been made carefully, making sure the newspaper is as soft as cloth material, molding the body shape of the model. The main attraction is the bow at the back of the kimono dress!
But best of all, it is recyclable! Let’s do our environment a favour, yes?

Tube dressed or spaghetti-strapped ones do not fit me, so I opt for a halter-neck variety. Black, on the other hand, is a common colour which is a timeless classic. You can hardly go wrong with black.

I edited the photo to allow the details of the dress to be seen more clearly. It is quite hard to snap a good picture of a black apparel. Everything seems like a splat of black. Bad lighting.
This dress has a collar for a smart image. The front line buttons create a formal look. The vertical pleats give a slimming effect altogether. I think this dress works well with smart casual ocassions. Just a tip though – you may want to iron off the creases to give a better impression of yourself in a little black dress.

I blogged about this dress before but it was of a low quality photo taken by a phone camera under poor lighting. Just so happened last night that my sister and I was “high” on snapping photos, so I took the chance to try fit in the dress again.

(Goodness, I think I see gastrocnemius muscle!)
Alright. I couldn’t exactly zip completely but hey, there is still time to lose the fat, right?
As I mentioned before, I like the bold floral prints. I like that sash or whatever-you-call-it belt. It defines your waist. It is white but seems ‘contaminated’ with some green colour run, which is just fine for me.
Another feature I like about this dress is the puffiness caused by an extra layer underneath. Look at the lacey sheet. It creates some ‘bounce’ and I absolutely love it. It doesn’t really matter if it causes me to look rounder in it. I think one should be confident in a dress she loves.

As for the price, it is a complete steal. Just RM50 from FOS. It has a Made-In-China label, though. But then again, what isn’t made in China these days?

Dresses are getting common nowadays. You can have fancy dresses, sexy dresses, etc. Now, this particular dress I have here is not very fancy. I called it sport dress because I thought I could wear it while running on threadmill. I did not buy the dress so I don’t really know how much it cost and where it was bought.

Yes, another one, which I like very much. The fabric isnt as light as the previous dress (previous post) but it is fitting and I the floral design is pretty cool!
You can wear it with jeans like how I did because I was lazy to take it off!
or you can wear it without, making it very sweet.
Maybe a tube to go with it if you think it is too revealing! Definitely you cant wear this in Msia or Doha! Unless there is a small cardigan…..

It’s halter neck style. The more I look at it, the more I want to buy! I shall wait till summer sale and if it’s still there, I’m going to get it!
Brand : New Yorker
Price : *eeekk..cant remember! I think more than 600-but less than 999rb. So, I would say around 25-30usd.
