My First

P1020218aI have always been quite stingy when it comes to buying sports shoes. In fact, I have never spend any  money on buying sports shoes. I always refused to splurge on it. But recently, I have started to taking walks at the park every weekdays’ afternoon. I began to feel that my few years old sport shoes is getting kind of uncomfortable to walk in. Actually, I am not sure if it is the shoes’s fault or not. Hehe… Nevertheless, I decided to look for a new pair of sports shoes. Initially, the price put me off but today…today, when I was window shopping, I discovered that Lea Centre has sale. Almost immediately, this pair caught my attention after discovering the pair that I always wanted is actually a tennis shoes and the price is just about within my budget. Hmm.. actually still a bit expensive. I am beginning to suspect that this is an impulse buying.

Spotted: Sharapova’s outfit

Paris, the city of romance may not seem very fitting to the idea of red, dirty clay but tennis fans all know Paris as the home of the renown French Open.

Since Roland Garros is now buzzing with loads of activities, the viewers at home are also treated to magnificient tennis on the red clay. On the men’s side, it is more of following the aggressive play and the seeded players. The women’s matches, however, are mostly parades of tennis outfits which exude style, elegance and confidence.

In the debut of this Spotted section, I want to bring across the latest dress worn by tennis comeback queen, Maria Sharapova.

Just a year ago, Maria Sharapova entered the French Open as the top seed. Since then, she hasn’t been performing well and was off for almost 10 months due to a shoulder injury. Her comeback, now ranked 102, recently has created buzz everywhere. I, on the other hand, took note of her outfits, as usual.

This time around, the former No. 1 scream queen dons a very pretty ‘floaty’ blue dress. I would think it is rather like teal colour, with lighter blue as part of the ‘flares’ or what-ever-you-call it. The colour is outstanding, yet not too overrated. I like the asymmetrical top part. The empire waistline more room for running around the court and explosive movements.

A smart modification of this dress in its length and shoulder straps may be able to turn this piece into a beautiful night gown. Or bridesmaid dress. Use your imagination!

Bottom line to this Nike piece: Take tennis away, I believe this dress can be worn for casual occasions as well.

A neutral colour

If you’re hunting for caps, you may want to get shades which are neutral so that it is easier to match. That is, of course, if you are planning to just get one. If you can afford to buy a colour each to match your outfits, then it is a totally different story.

A neutral colour like this one above can go with basically any colour outfit. It is simple as well. Simplicity speaks of character. So, be simple, be neutral. Since it is the economy crisis now, we cannot afford to buy so many baseball caps just to match every outfit, so this is just the best choice to stretch the dollar, I guess?

First in the F room

We’ve been featuring posts from the Fitting Room (yes, let’s famously call it the F Room) but this would be the debut ‘Only in the F room’ post on our newly owned domain. By the way, if you are wondering why it is called so, this is a corner where we try out outfits in the fitting rooms but ended up not purchasing the item for various reasons. Nevertheless, it is always worth a mention here to spice things up.

My little sis (also a blogging member here) and I was at Parkson Grand last Saturday when we ended up roaming around the sports corner. The sister of mine is looking for a new cap as her current one is pretty worn out already. Being a little enthusiast, I tried on this extremely huge visor meant for golfers.

I think it is quite cute to have such a huge shade under this visor. I especially love the colours – it is pastel and soft. Definitely feminine. Of course, being a non-golfer, I didn’t get it.

And this is the baby blue Nike cap my sis tried on. It was the only Nike cap around. She would want to look out for more before deciding on which design. We need variety, people!
